Xbox

I completely missed the boat on the original Xbox.  I had my PlayStation 2 and Gamecube, but gaming funds were a lot harder to come by for me back then, so I only rarely got to play titles at friends' houses here and there.  I have since gone back and had the opportunity to play some titles on my Xbox 360 from the original console, but the majority of my time with the 360 is spent playing games from this generation.

The Xbox 360 was my introduction to this generation of gaming systems.  It was what also encouraged me to get a high definition television so I could better appreciate the jump in hardware.  It introduced me to a whole new type of game and also gameplay when one considers the online aspects of it.  My first couple of titles were Gears of War and F.E.A.R.

Unfortunately the Xbox 360 has not proven quite the hit with my family the Wii and PlayStation 3 have been.  Halo and Gears has not resonated with the family the way Mario and Zelda have.  The lack of online multiplayer without a gold account has also hurt it with my kids.  All the same, I have found quite a few titles I enjoy on it and have no regrets about being an early adopter of the Xbox 360.
