Saitek Cyborg V5 - PC Review

Okay, this isn't a game review, but I got a very cool new keyboard from my dad for my birthday back in May. Now that I've had some time with it, I figured I'd share my thoughts on it.

Saitek Cyborg V5 CCB44026N002/06/1 Black USB Wired Game Keyboard

Pros: Keys look good, quiet keyboard, good button layout

Cons: could be a bit brighter, kind of smallish space bar

The Bottom Line: This is an excellent illuminated keyboard. Even with heavy use, it works perfectly.

  1. I used to wish for a backlit keyboard, and even do sometimes now, but for whatever reason I always use the keyboards with the computers. Last keyboard was used for almost 9 years, and this one going on 2 years now.

I have "my" computer in the computer room, so the lights are usually on when I'm in here, but the backlit keyboard would be useful if/when I move this to another room...especially with a 2 year that loves randomly turning light switches on/off.

  2. What really got me interested in them, was a co-worker. See, he and I both like having our cubes at work super-dark. Just easier on our eyes. And his wife got him a nice blue backlit one last year for Christmas, and he kept talking about how nice it was. Most of the time, I type actual text just fine without needing to see the keyboard, but when I'm playing games that might use the numpad or function keys that I don't use as often - it can be pretty nice (since I keep my den suitably dark as well)
